Outbreak sickens more than 100 cruise ship guests
Another cruise ship has been hit with a suspected norovirus outbreak, sickening more than 100 guests.
The CDC confirmed the outbreak on Holland America Line’s MS Rotterdam which returns to Florida Friday after a 12-day Caribbean voyage.
The health agency says 107 cruise guests and 12 crew members fell ill.
HAL responded that ship crew have ramped up cleaning and disinfecting while infected passengers and crew were isolating.
It is the seventh confirmed gastrointestinal outbreak on a cruise ship so far this year.
Last week Royal Caribbean’s Radiance of the Seas reported a gastrointestinal illness which affected 160 passengers.
