Outcome of latest BA cabin crew ballot expected

The outcome of the latest ballot of British Airways cabin crew which could lead to fresh strike action is expected today (Friday).
The Unite union has strongly recommended its 12,000 members working for the airline to reject the latest offer from BA, prompting fears of further industrial action.
The consultative ballot of BA cabin crew members closes today.
Seven days of industrial action by cabin crew in March caused widespread distruption to passengers and cost the carrier up to £45 million.
BA has argued that its latest offer to resolve the dispute is fair following more than a year of negotiations.
Unite outlined its reasons why cabin crew should vote to reject the offer including a claim that BA is failing to fully restore travel concessions from all crew who took industrial action.
The union also argues that BA will take away ‘seniority’ based travel which means that crew with long service will lose out disproportionately from those with a few years service.
Unite is concerned about the company’s disciplinary actions against more than 50 crew members who have been suspended on charges arising from the dispute.
The union also says it has lost trust in BA’s commitment to find a solution to the dispute.
