OYO investing USD100 million to fuel Indonesia expansion
Indian budget hotel chain OYO is deepening its presence in Indonesia with a major expansion backed by investment of US$100 million over the next five years.
OYO entered Indonesia last year with a presence in Jakarta, Surabaya, and Palembang and has since onboarded 150 hotels across 16 cities.
We are definitely betting big on Indonesia. We entered Indonesia with the mindset of an Indonesian company that saw an opportunity to emulate OYO’s business model in India to create something relevant for Indonesia," said Ritesh Agarwal, OYO founder and CEO.
OYO has added about 70 hotels every month and has a local workforce of 400.
OYO’s business model of branding independent hotels aims to offer consistent budget hotel standards such as free Wi-Fi and TV in rooms, free breakfast and 24/7 customer support.
