Pacific Airlines names new CEO
Newly rebranded Pacific Airlines has announced the appointment of a new chief executive.
Dinh Van Tuan, 50, has replaced Nguyen Thuong Hoang Hai, who resigned for personal reasons.
Tuan has been with parent company Vietnam Airlines for more than two decades and was previously director of Vietnam Airlines’ operations centre.
He joined the airline in 1996.
Pacific Airlines was rebranded from Jetstar Pacific earlier this month after Qantas agreed to sell its 30% stake in the airline to Vietnam Airlines.
When completed VN will assume full control of Pacific.
Vietnam Airlines has big expansion plans for Pacific, and will boost its current fleet of 18 aircraft to about 50 planes by 2025.
In its nearly 30-year history, Jetstar Pacific only managed to turn a profit four times.
