Package holiday sales to Greece double, reports Global
The Global Travel Group has reported sales to Greece are up 40% compared to the same time last year with no signs of slowing down.
The agency group – with 400 plus independent agents – said package holidays have doubled over the past couple of weeks, year on year.
It added that the average booking value of holidays has increased by more than £300 with Rhodes, Crete and Corfu topping the list.
Managing director of the Global Travel Group, Andy Stark said: "It’s encouraging to hear that the ongoing economic turmoil in Greece is not deterring British holidaymakers from booking trips to the country.
"Our agents are reporting some stand out deals to Greece and its islands at the moment. Travellers are snapping these up and heading out to enjoy the sunshine."
