Palau Now!
A significant improvement in connectivity to a tiny island republic in the Pacific has prompted David Knight, Managing Director, Philippine Holidays, to venture into ‘new waters’ with the launch of what he says is one of the first holiday packages for Australians to Palau.
The six night Laid Back in Palau package which departs Sydney/Melbourne/Brisbane includes two nights in Manila and four nights at the 4-star Palau Pacific Resort at Koror. Priced from $2425 plus taxes, departures are on Sundays.
One appeal of Palau is its unique culture ….. pictured right
Once in Palau clients can do absolutely nothing, go on a cultural tour or delve into an extraordinary subterranean world. With a land mass smaller than Singapore divided among 200 or so islands in the western Pacific, the Republic of Palau, 650 km southeast of the Philippines, is “one of the most exotic dive destinations in the world,” he said.
Mr Knight said that Palau would appeal to people who simply wanted to go to a place they’ve never heard of before as well as those who want to spend their time swimming, snorkelling or diving.

As well he believes that the creation of this two-destination holiday was ideal because clients could extend their stay in the Philippines and explore lush island destinations like Borocay.
The popular 6 km long vehicle-free isle will also become more accessible with the commencement of Philippine Airlines flights to an adjacent island in mid December. Using 50 seat Dash 8 aircraft the service will connect Manila with Caticlan Island followed by a short water transfer to resorts on nearby Borocay Island.
This direct air service will create a positive flow-on effect with lower package prices driving more business to one of the most beautiful islands in the Philippines, he said
