Paradores set to open 100th property in 2026

Paradores Hotels and Restaurants, Spain’s state-run hotel chain, announces that it is set to reach a historic milestone in 2026 with the opening of its 100th hotel.

Parador de Veruela, in Vera del Moncayo, Zaragoza opens next year.

The Parador de Veruela will follow the opening of two new Paradors in 2025. The Parador de Molina de Aragón, set to open in May 2025, combines history and nature with an innovative design and will be the second Parador in Guadalajara.

The Parador de Ibiza, a renovated sixteenth-century fortress, that is set to open in late 2025, marks a significant milestone for the brand as the first property in the Balearic Islands.

Raquel Sánchez, President of Paradores, stated: “At Paradores, we believe in responsible and inclusive tourism that supports the local region. That’s why we work to preserve and celebrate our historical, natural, and cultural heritage, keeping it alive for future generations.”

The opening of the Parador de Veruela will see the 100th opening of the Paradores network ahead of its centenary in 2028.

Paradores is working closely with UK-based travel agents and industry partners to enhance awareness of the property offerings.

Juan José González Álvarez, Director of Sales and Distribution, has been working closely with agents in the UK, offering incentives and tailored support to promote Paradores in the UK market.

Between 2023 and 2024, Paradores has seen increased interest from UK travellers in destinations that are off the beaten track, seeking authentic and uncrowded locations.

A key focus for the brand in 2025 is promoting geographical diversification in central Spain, particularly the Parador de Benavente and Parador de Tordesillas in Castile and León, as well as the lesser-visited properties of the Canary Islands, namely the Parador de La Palma.
