Pay with Alaska Airlines miles for TSA Precheck

Saturday, 22 Mar, 2016 0
Alaska Airlines says it is the first carrier to offer loyalty members the ability to pay for expedited PreCheck screening using frequent flyer miles.

Until April 30, Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan members can redeem 10,000 miles to pay for the $85 application fee for TSA Precheck.

The fee gives flyers enrolment in the program for five years.

"TSA Precheck is a game-changer for those of us who travel frequently for work or pleasure. This partnership between Mileage Plan and the TSA will allow more of our customers to take the guesswork out of the day of travel," said Sangita Woerner, Alaska’s vice president of marketing.

Members are asked to email [email protected] with their name and Mileage Plan number and miles will be deducted from their account.

An authorization code will be then be sent to enable customers to start the TSA Precheck process.

The authorization code will expire on November 30, 2016, the airline said.
