Meanwhile, Malaysia Airlines has announced changes in its management team as it enters the second phase of its Business Turnaround Plan.
Managing director and CEO, Datuk Idris Jala said, “Only in highly exceptional cases, where there is a shortage of specialist expertise within the company and succession issues, will extensions be granted to high performing individuals. Such decisions will be made purely at the discretion of the company.”
The airline is also setting up two new subsidiaries, Malaysian Aerospace Engineering (MAE) Sdn Bhd and MASWings Sdn Bhd to allow these companies to concentrate on their core business.
