British Airways has appointment of Nicole Backo as the new head of its South-West Pacific operations as regional commercial manager.

Previously commercial manager for Australia, she will now be responsible for the business’s operations in Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia and the South Pacific Islands.

Nicole has taken over from Sam Heine, who will take a new role as manager of strategic supplier partnerships at HRG Australia, an industry partner of British Airways.

South African Tourism’s Janaya Birse has resigned from the Sydney office as marketing and communications manager. Her last day will be the January 29. Recruitment processes are underway to fill the position.

Onboard store technology provider to the travel industry, GuestLogix has appointed former British Airways retail manager Richard Cushing as vice president, OnTouchTM Programme Management to direct the company’s branded onboard store deployments with carriers within Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific regions.
