Peter Kearns returns to Red Sea Group
Egyptian-owned Red Sea Group has enticed back Peter Kearns into the newly-created role of executive director of tour operations.
Kearns previously worked with the group to launch UK tour operator Red Sea Holidays in 2009 but left in 2013 to become tour operations director at Jet2holidays.
He said the new role at Red Sea ‘was one I simply couldn’t refuse’.
In the new position, he will be involved in all of Red Sea Group’s international tour operations in the UK, Ireland, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Hungary and Slovakia.
"Red Sea Group has very substantial tourism interests in Egypt and ambitious plans for their European operations. To be a part of that ambition and to bring the knowledge of the company I already have is a tremendous opportunity," said Kearns.
"As well as Egypt, we already operate in Turkey, Greece and Croatia, and have more destinations in mind."
Owned by Egypt’s Samir family, the group consists of the Red Sea Hotels chain, Nile cruise ships, ground handling, and European tour operators Red Sea Holidays and ETI.
Kearns will also have responsibility for product development and differentiation of the hotel and Nile cruise ship portfolio.
