Phu Quoc to open for vaccinated travellers
Vietnam’s tourism ministry plans to allow international tourists visit the popular holiday island Phu Quoc. It is urgently working on a system to allow travellers to use digital vaccine passports from their home country, Nguyen Van Hung, the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said.
The vaccine passport would be accepted in a digital format. The local Kien Giang government is ramping up vaccinations forr the island’s population in readiness for a possible opening.
In 2019 Vietnam’s largest island welcomed more than five million visitors, including half a million foreign tourists.
