Plan for new worldwide independent agency force
Worldwide Independent Travel Network (WIN) chief executive Neil Armorgie has outlined plans to it a much more effective organisation for its agency members.
All Advantage members in the UK are also part of WIN, which includes members in Australia, Canada and South Africa along with four other European countries (Austria, Germany, Italy and Spain). In total it consists of 6,000 agents.
Mr Armorgie said that agency organisations in Belgium, the Caribbean, France, Switzerland and the USA were negotiating to join the grouping. He said there were plans to use its buying power and size to negotiate more favourable deals for members from suppliers.
And he said there were plans to create ‘WIN Corporate Buddies’ so that agencies in the UK could link up with a similar agency overseas to pitch for multinational business.
He told delegates yesterday: “WIN has been a sleeping giant for 17 years. We are hoping to wake it. But it won’t happen overnight, it will take time.”
