Plane grounded by swarm of bees
A massive swarm of bees managed to ground a flight after clouding the windshields and then getting sucked into the plane’s engines.
The Allegiant airlines flight from Las Vegas to Dululth, Minnesota, was forced to turn around and land back at McCarran International airport.
Passengers said that it smelt as if the whole cabin was on fire.
"We thought [the pilot] was joking when he said ,’I’ve never had that happen before. We hit thousands of bees,’ " passenger Cassandra Rogers told WDIO news.
The plane arrived into Duluth airport just two hours behind schedule.
