The Laos government has inked a deal to sell a minority stake in Lao Airlines to China based aircraft maker COMAC.
COMAC will purchase a 49% stake in Lao Airlines.
The transaction is expected to be finalized soon.
COMAC had initially sought a majority stake, but the Lao government insisted on retaining a majority stake.
It follows a recent leasing agreement with COMAC to introduce the COMAC C909 aircraft to the Lao Airlines fleet.
Lao Airlines currently has a fleet of 13 aircraft including two COMAC C909s, as well as Airbus and ATR planes.
