Plane skids off runway and plunges down cliff edge
Pegasus Airlines says nobody was hurt when one of its planes skidded off the runway at a Turkish airport and plunged down a steep slope towards the sea.
It issued a statement after Flight PC 8622, from Ankara to Trabzon, ended up just metres from the edge of the Black Sea.
Calling it a ‘runway excursion incident’, it said all 162 passengers, two pilots and four cabin crew were disembarked safely from the aircraft.
"There has been no loss of life or injury to anyone on-board," it said.
Shocking photos of the Boeing 737-800 have been posted on social media.
