Planeta Spotlight Award Nominations Open
Planeta’s Ecotourism Spotlight Award is announced in advance of World Tourism Day (September 27) as way of pointing out best practice in sustainable travel and ecotourism.
As of April 30, Planeta has two nominees: Bali Tourism and the Belize Tourism Board. Everyone’s invited and anyone can nominate a government website.
Says Ron Mader, Planeta’s founder “If you want to help create a buzz for quality government websites, talk it up on your blog or Facebook, use the artwork at flickr (see below) or do something equally clever. (Let us know!)”
The Ecotourism Spotlight Award debuted in 2007. The winner of the first 2007 Ecotourism Spotlight Award was Ecotourism Laos.
Government websites that spotlight ecotourism and sustainable travel are eligible to win Planeta.com’s Ecotourism Spotlight Award. Nominations are accepted until July 11 and may include environmental, tourism or other government portals. Voting takes place in July 16-September 15. Winners will be announced on World Tourism Day.
