Plans for new Northern Marianas airline unveiled
A new airline startup is planned in the Northern Marianas Islands, which aims to serve Australia and northeast Asia. Marianas Pacific Airlines is backed by Pacific Rim Land Development and is seeking further investment from the local government and the business community.
In a presentation it hopes to generate 165 jobs and could create nearly 500 indirect jobs. As it will be based in the US Pacific territory, it would operate as a U.S. Federal Aviation Administration-approved scheduled carrier flying US registered aircraft.
