Play sustainable tourism buzz word bingo

Thursday, 17 Jul, 2012 0

Have a bit of fun at the expense of boring non-words and make sustainable tourism sustainable

The problem with academic-style weasel words is that they don’t add value but they do add stress.

All you need to do to play sustainable tourism buzz-word is to make your own list of 24+1 worthless buzz-words in 5 lines of 5. Shout ‘BINGO!" loudly when you tick off a diagonal or horizontal line – in a press release, webinar or business meeting

Happy playing

Here is my personal list of 25 buzzwords:

  • LINE 1: Going forward/ web 2.0/ synergy/ time frame/ strategise
  • LINE2: Low hanging fruit/heads up/knowledge transfer/think outside the box/ customer centric
  • LINE3: Quality-driven/ emotional leakage/ FREE SQUARE/  empowerment/ change catalyst
  • LINE4: Push the envelope/ responsible/ enablers/ knowledge brokering/ conscious/
  • LINE5: Win-win/ (in our) DNA/ sexy/ footprint/ leverage

I’d love some more nominations. What’s the WORST word in sustainable tourism?
