P&O Cruises makes key appointments for new dedicated sales team
Nathaniel Sherborne, director of national partnerships for Carnival UK, has been appointed director of trade sales for sister cruise line P&O Cruises.
He will be responsible for all travel agent sales revenue, including the management of national and retail strategic partner accounts and partnership development teams.
Shane Riley, who is currently director of retail, new business and onboard sales for Carnival UK, takes the role of director of trade engagement and onboard sales for P&O Cruises.
He will be manage sales operations, including agent promotions, events, communications and sales support; regional sales and training, and future cruise on board sales teams.
P&O Cruises is now recruiting for a director of distribution to establish and optimise a distribution strategy for the brand.
The shake-up comes after parent Carnival decided to split its Cunard and P&O Cruises sales teams as P&O prepares to take delivery of its largest ever ship in 2020.
The cruise giant said having dedicated teams would ‘strengthen trade partnerships and solidify brand distinction’.
Sherborne and Riley will take their new roles on December 1 and will continue to report into Carnival UK’s vice president of sales, Alex White.
White will assume the role of vice president of sales and distribution for P&O Cruises once structural changes are finalised by mid 2018.
The cruise line said further details of the new partnership team organisational structure will be announced in due course.
