P&O Cruises overhauls brochure for 2009
Customer and agent research has prompted P&O Cruises to completely overhaul its main brochure for 2009.
The redesigned brochure takes a destination-led approach, rather than featuring holidays based on each ship in the fleet.
New ports of call include Antwerp in Belgium, the island of Hvar in Croatia and La Spezia in Italy. There are 182 destinations in 80 countries featured in the 244-page brochure.
New ship Ventura will sail its first full year programme, with 19 departures from Southampton and 10 fly-cruise holidays from Barbados within the brochure.
The company’s fleet of six ships will be sailing to ports across the Mediterranean, Baltic, Norwegian fjords, Canary Islands and the Caribbean, as well as calls to the US, Mexico and South America.
P&O Cruises’ managing director, Nigel Esdale, said: “Overall we have injected more energy and dynamism into the brochure. It is now easier to navigate with itineraries grouped by region, colour coded sections and cross-referencing to the website for additional information.
“This redesign has been done with agents in mind, making it a more obvious recommendation for customers who perhaps know they want a summer holiday to Italy, but have never considered a cruise before.
“Cruise holidays paid for in sterling have always offered excellent value for money but, this year particularly, with the current exchange rate, cruises are now one of the most cost effective ways to visit Europe.
“Real savings can be made by families, and couples, as all the little extras, which turn out to be not so little, in hotels and resorts, like entertainment, supervised children’s clubs and night nursery, are all included in the cost of a cruise.â€
