Police called to delayed BA flight after passengers ‘went crazy’
Armed police were reportedly called to a British Airways flight at Heathrow as passengers erupted when their departure was abandoned for a second time in two days.
The flight to Las Vegas was due to depart at 4.40pm on Sunday, but didn’t leave until yesterday afternoon.
It was abandoned on Sunday due to a technical fault and again on Monday following a mix-up over baggage.
When the second flight was aborted shortly before take-off on Monday, passengers reportedly ‘went crazy’.
Police were contacted after the cabin crew alerted the pilot to a potential disturbance.
A spokeswoman for BA confirmed police were called. She added: "We fully appreciate how frustrating this experience has been, and have apologised to our customers for the long delay to their flight.
"We provided refreshments, hotel accommodation and help with expenses during the delay, and the flight departed yesterday."
