Postcards without the hassle of travel
A company that sends postcards from far-flung destinations – on behalf of people who have never even been there – is said to be doing well.
According to the online news provider Ananova, the MayDayCard company collects personally-written cards and sends them from exotic locations around the world, to impress the recipient of the card.
The going rate for cards from Los Angeles or Mauritius is reportedly GBP8.50, or GBP13 if you want to send a card from Hawaii.
Ananova reports that a team of 20 people working in the travel trade, including pilots and flight attendants, are involved in the operation.
The service has reportedly been selling more than 1,500 cards a month since it was launched at the beginning of the year.
