Premier Inn enjoys record performance
Budget hotel chain Premier Inn, which benefited from special events including The Commonwealkt helped boost first half sales for parent company Whitbread.
Occupancy rates at budget hotel chain Premier Inn hit an all-time high in the first half of the year, said parent company Whitbread, whose sales jumped 12.8%.
Sales at Premier Inn were up 9.2% in the 11 weeks to mid August, boosted by special events including the Commonwealth Games in Scotland and the Farnborough Airshow.
Whitbread said the hotel chain had gained market share and had opened a further 758 UK rooms so far this year. A further 4,500 new rooms will open by the end of the financial year.
