Princess Cruises launching sportsbook betting at sea
Princess Cruises has unveiled plans for sportsbook gambling at sea.
The Ocean Sportsbook service will be available onboard Princess Cruises’ MedallionClass ships when cruising finally resumes.
The real-time sports wagering program will offer bets on pro and college football, basketball, baseball, hockey and other major sports events like the Olympics.
Guests can even wager on the Academy Awards.
However there will be a block on wagering on games involving the Miami Heat due to parent Carnival Corp’s affiliation with the team.
"On Princess MedallionClass cruises, our guests can stay connected and now with Ocean Sportsbook, they can also stay connected to their favorite teams and wager on a host of events," said Jan Swartz, President of Princess Cruises.
The cruise line partnered with software firm Miomni to develop Ocean Sportsbook.
It will be part of Ocean Casino, which allows passengers to wager on blackjack, slots, poker, roulette, and play bingo.
The Princess MedallionClass wearable tech enables touchless embarkation and transactions and keyless stateroom entry.
