Princess Cruises returning to Singapore for double deployment
Princess Cruises will return to Singapore with a deployment for the fifth year running but this time with two ships homeporting at the Marina Bay Cruise Centre.
The Sapphire Princess and Diamond Princess are lined up to homeport from the 2017-18 season.
The two ships will accommodate demand for both short and long cruises, the line said.
The Sapphire Princess will call at ports throughout Southeast Asia including Bali, Penang, Langkawi, Nha Trang, Phuket, and Sihanoukville in Cambodia.
Diamond Princess will sail 10 to 11-day voyages from Singapore in December 2018 and January 2019.
"Singapore is a thriving and attractive cruise hub. We are seeing increasing demand among Singaporean and Southeast Asian travellers, opting for cruise travel to explore the region. Our commitment to homeporting in Singapore for a fifth consecutive year reflects our goal to meet this demand by offering new travel experiences," said Farriek Tawfik, Southeast Asia director, Princess Cruises.
Tawfik said events are planned at the cruise port this November to kick off the new deployment and celebrate five years sailing from the Lion City.
