TUI Travel specialist and emerging markets managing director Richard Prosser is to leave the organisation as his sector of responsibility is abolished.
The Specialist & Emerging Markets sector will “cease to exist in its current form” following an internal review due to be completed in a number of weeks.
The businesses within the division, which include Sovereign Holidays and Austravel in the UK plus brands in North America, Russia and the CIS, will transfer into other areas of the group.
TUI Travel’s other sectors are Mainstream, Activity and Accommodation & Destinations.
“Richard Prosser has decided that following the completion of this review, and the reallocation of the businesses that will follow, he will pursue other career opportunities outside of the group,” a statement said.
“He will, therefore, gradually reduce his time spent in the business, allowing for a smooth transition across his sector.”
Prosser, a former director at Cosmos, was with First Choice Holidays prior to the merger with TUI.
TUI Travel chief executive Peter Long, who has been working with Prosser on the sector review, said: “Richard is a long-standing and valued member of the group management board and senior management team at TUI Travel, and while we fully understand and respect the decision he has made, I know that he will be greatly missed across the group.
“I would personally like to thank him for all his support and the significant contribution he has made to the success of both First Choice and TUI Travel during his 14 years with the group. We wish him every success for the future.”
