QantasLink provides inaugural school scholarship
QantasLink today announced the inaugural QantasLink Aviation Scholarship, a three-year sponsorship of a year 10 student for tuition at the New England Girls’ School (NEGS) in Armidale, with Qantas Group General Manager Regional Airlines, Narendra Kumar, saying the scholarship, the first of its kind, would be awarded to a student who demonstrated outstanding academic ability in the scholarship examination.“
The scholarship will take the form of a reduction in tuition fees of $5,000 per annum, meeting the financial obligations associated with the student’s study until the end of Year 12,” he said.
Mr Kumar said the scholarship gave all year nine girls in the New England region to apply for an opportunity to study at the prestigious school.
“QantasLink is proud to provide this scholarship to a region that has supported the airline for more than 18 years,”he said.
The scholarship is subject to an annual review of academic performance, behaviour and involvement in the general school community by the NEGS Scholarship Committee.
QantasLink operates 32 return services each week between Sydney and Armidale on Dash-8 aircraft.
Application forms are available from The New England Girls’ School Enrolments Office [email protected]
The release suggests that other scholarhips will follow.
