Qatar just grows and grows in Aus

Only eighteen months after starting business from its base in Melbourne, Qatar Airways (QR) says that is continuing to grow its Australian presence.

The airline has recently moved into larger office space in its Collins Street premises to house their growing team, while also appointing public relations agency, Sefiani Communications Group, to provide further momentum to QR’s brand presence in this market and Sefiani will work closely with Marketing Coordinator, Shannon Beresford.

Brett McDougall, Manager Sales Development Australasia for Qatar Airways, says “The airline had experienced double-digit offline sales growth in Australia, significantly exceeding initial expectations and he said indications were that this trend was set to continue and that new Frequent Flyer members were being added to their program each day.

He added, “Part of the reason for our success offline in Australia is that we are agent-friendly and the major players and independent agencies work with us because we are a leading airline and provide exceptional service to their clients.”

“We also view them as important long term partners in the success of our business and provide them with new opportunities to generate commissions”

He said that the Qatari and Australian governments would be meeting in the next few months to discuss air services, adding, “Our efforts have focused on developing a foundation of support in Australia to enable us to launch online operations to this country”.
