Quintana Roo hails UK tourism rebound
Quintana Roo tourism has lauded the destination’s popularity with UK travelers.
Presenting at World Travel Market London, the Mexican state says visitation from the UK has increased by 470% compared to 2021.
In fact, over three-quarters of all UK tourists to Mexico choose to stay in Quintana Roo resort towns.
The state is home to a dozen major beach vacation areas including Cancun, Cozumel, Playa del Carmen, Holbox, and Tulum.
The vast majority of Brits visit the state for relaxation, yet it is also popular for destination weddings and honeymoons.
UK travellers stayed for an average of 10.9 days, with 64% opting for all-inclusive packages.
The state has direct flights from seven UK cities.
Quintana Roo tourism served a total of 9.7 million international visitors in 2022.
Over 15% of these were from Europe.
“Quintana Roo tourism provides year-round summer experiences and a comprehensive offering for European tourists,” said Javier Aranda, Director of the Quintana Roo Tourism Board.
