Rail strike in Belgium could hit UK passengers
Eurostar services between the UK and Brussels are operating normally today, says the operator, despite a 24-hour national rail strike in Belgium.
However, the international train operator said it won’t be accepting passengers on its trains from Brussels to Lille and Calais due to the strike, which is due to last until the end of the day.
"Passengers with tickets for travel between these destinations can exchange them in person at our stations or by contacting their original point of sale," it said.
Passengers from the UK who are travelling further than Brussels, are advised to consult https://www.b-europe.com/EN/Disruptions~to see if their connecting journeys are affected.
The Foreign and Commonwealth Office is warning that the Brussels public transport network will be disrupted. "You should check with your operator before you travel and allow extra time for your journey," it said.
The strike is scheduled to continue until the end of services today.
