Record Australia international air passenger numbers
An AAP report says that Federal Transport Minister Mark Vaile has said that the number of international passengers flying into and out of Australia over the last year has reached record levels.
Figures released by the Bureau of Transport and Regional Economics (BTRE) released today show 21.92 million international passengers passed through Australia’s borders over the last year, with Mr Vaile adding, “This represents an increase of 4.3% over the previous year’s performance”.
Qantas had the largest share of the international passenger market in April with 27.6%, followed by Singapore Airlines with 11.3%, Air New Zealand with 9.7% and Emirates with 7.4%.
