Record year for Luton Airport
Luton Airport has reported a record 10.5 million passengers in 2014, an 8.1% jump on the year before.
It said the growth was helped by the addition of 15 new destinations in 2014. A further 10 new routes have already been confirmed for 2015.
The airport plans to increase annual capacity from 12 million to 18 million passengers by 2026 and make a number of improvements, including better transport links, parking, and further new routes.
It is redesigning the terminal, adding new shopping and food outlets, plus a new executive lounge.
CEO Nick Barton said: "Record passenger numbers and the launch of a bold new identity to mark the start of the £100m transformation are all great platforms from which to start 2015."
