Recovery continues in Aruba
The first-quarter of this year showed a marked improvement in arrivals from the US over last year, according to the Aruba Tourism Authority (ATA).
In the month of January, US visitors to the island were up 18.7% over the same month the previous year. February and March numbers also saw increases of 15.5% and 7.7%, respectively.
Overall, visitors are up 13.7% over last year. Worldwide numbers are pacing on par with US visitors as Aruba’s combined market year-to-date arrivals are also coming in 14% higher than last year.
Tourism officials attribute the increases to near-perfect weather (annual average temperatures of 82º F) to world-renowned hospitality to sporting, cultural and musical events offered year-long.
