Regional airline flies to the top
Flybe has been named Europe’s top regional airline by Airline Business magazine and the eighth biggest regional airline in the world measured by revenue.
This week the airline announced new routes from Manchester to Aberdeen and Nantes.
Chief commercial officer Mike Rutter said: “Flybe is now very clearly a global force in aviation and is proud to sit alongside airlines like SkyWest, American Eagle and ExpressJet, who truly are industry giants.”
He added: “What is particularly gratifying is that these rankings show that an independently-owned airline, who doesn’t rely on providing feeder services for the ‘big boys’ can make its mark on one of the world’s toughest and unforgiving industries.”
