Regulator probing spate of Spicejet emergency landings
The operations of budget carrier Spicejet were snagged by two emergency landings in the same day.
Seven SpiceJet aircraft have made landings in just the last 17 days.
A SpiceJet flight touched down safely in Mumbai after the cockpit windshield was cracked.
A separate flight to Dubai, a jet diverted to Karachi, Pakistan because of a reported fuel indicator malfunction.
This involved a Boeing 737 Max aircraft.
A replacement aircraft had to be sent to Karachi to take passengers to Dubai.
A Jabalpur-bound SpiceJet flight at the weekend reported smoke in the cabin.
The regular Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) is probing all seven of the incidents.
