Rental website ceases operations
Short-term accommodation website Wheretosleep has ceased operating.
The company, which allowed home owners to rent our spare rooms to guests, sent out an email to members yesterday informing them that they would no longer have access to the site from April 20.
It is no longer taking reservations.
Wheretosleep launched just three years ago as an alternative to more upmarket short-term rental sites such as onefinestay.
It was set up by the owners of flatshare website easyroommate.com and one of the world’s biggest classified websites vivastreet.com
At the time, founder Yannick Pons said he wanted "wheretosleep to be to the hotel and short-term rental industry what easyJet has been to the airline industry".
