Retro holiday snaps and cute cats
To celebrate its 30th birthday Virgin Holidays has launched a social media campaign titled ‘Born in the 80s’. The nostalgic campaign includes a page on the brand’s website featuring ’80s summer’ playlists for customers to enjoy. On social media, Virgin Holidays is asking users to upload their ‘retro’ holiday snaps for the chance to win a holiday to Miami. The hashtag #Borninthe80s has been a hit on Twitter with users posting their old holiday photos.
There’s nothing better than a witty Instagram account and a current favourite is @sadtopographies, an account which highlights some of the saddest places across the globe. From ‘Disappointment Island’ to ‘Heartache Road" the account describes itself as ‘somewhere to go, when you’re feeling low". If you’re after a holiday with a difference then this might be the place to go to find inspiration for your next destination – "Mistake Island" anyone?
