Rex rolling out a frequent flyer program
Regional carrier Rex is launching a frequent flyer program.
Australia’s number three airline will; start rolling out the program progressively from next month.
It is a move to better compete with Qantas and Virgin Australia for regular fliers.
It will offer a unique benefit not offered by its rivals.
Members will have access to the cheapest reward rate for all unsold seats from 48 hours before departure.
Rex Flyer will have superior benefits than its rivals, says Rex deputy chairman John Sharp.
“We can at last reward our passengers for the loyalty they’ve shown us over so many years,” Sharp said.
New signups before January 2024 will get a 5,000-point joining bonus and double points for bookings made in the first three months.
Members can earn up to seven points for every dollar spent per flight.
They will get five points for every dollar on add-ons and extra services.
Rex plans to build a new airport lounge at Brisbane and refurbish its current lounges in Adelaide, Sydney and Melbourne
