Riviera Travel adds Alaska cruise extension to 2023 Canada tours
Riviera Travel has launched its Canada group tour holiday for 2023, which includes the option to sail on an Alaskan cruise.
The nine-day tour, titled ‘Canada’s Rocky Mountaineer’, comprises experiences and visits across the Rocky Mountains as well as Banff and Vancouver.
These include two days on the iconic Rocky Mountaineer train; trips to Lake Louise, Peyto Lake and the Athabasca Glacier; a ride on the Snocoach snow track; and a journey to Icefields Parkway.
The optional cruise extension is a seven-night sailing on the Holland America ship, MS Koningsdam.
The itinerary features a visit to the Glacier Bay National Park, a World Heritage Site and home to actively calving glaciers and humpback whales.
While at sea there are calls to Skagway and Ketchikan, and the opportunity for guests to book a range of shore excursions such as glacier helicopter flights, bear and whale-watching, fishing, kayaking, hiking and dogsledding.
There are 21 departures available from £2,999pp, including return flights, transfers and excursions.
Twenty of the tours include the Alaska cruise add-on, with the overall package available from £3,899. Departures are from May to September 2023.
Will Sarson, head of strategy and innovation at Riviera Travel, said: “The magnificent Rocky Mountains are a spectacular sight with the Rocky Mountaineer train held up as the ultimate way to travel through the terrain.”
“The optional cruise will set sail to some of the most eye-catching areas of Alaska including Glacier Bay, with its extraordinary twelve-storey walls of ice.”
