Roamfree.com still buying……….
Online tourism services business Roamfree.com has announced it has acquired Travel Online Pty Ltd, a Brisbane-based operator of more than 70 websites covering Australia and the Pacific region.
Roamfree.com CEO Business Development & Strategy James Vaile said the purchase would significantly increase the volume of customer traffic to the Roamfree.com network.
“We identified Travel Online as an important addition to our business and are delighted it has been added to Roamfree.com’s growing portfolio,” he said
“The real winners in this deal will be Travel Online consumers who will be able to access Roamfree.com’s Global Accommodation Search Engine and the extra online inventory it offers.”
Currently consumers can search more than 100,000 accommodation providers via the Roamfree.com website, with the company aiming for at least one million.
Travel Online General Manager Margaret Day is also excited about the growth opportunities the new ownership provides.
“Our customer base has been growing rapidly and in order to meet this growing demand, we need to access more real-time inventory.” “Joining the Roamfree.com network will help us to achieve this goal,” she said.
Established in 1995, Travel Online was one of the first internet travel businesses in Australia. Its extensive network of websites handles high volumes of travel agents and consumers searching for holidays in the Pacific region’s best destinations, such as Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, Vanuatu and the Cook Islands.
Roamfree.com plans to establish an unrivalled network of online tourism solutions that help tourism operators such as hotels, resorts, motels and apartments meet the increasing demand for up-to-the-second online information on room availability, rates, packages and reservations.
Tony Smith, the founder of BreakFree Resorts, established Roamfree.com in 2006.
