Roller coaster ride shuts down after viral video
An eagle-eyed park guest’s video footage has led to the closure of a major roller coaster ride at Carowinds amusement park in North Carolina.
The footage showed a large crack in a support pillar of the Fury 325.
It describes the Fury 325 as ‘the tallest, fastest, longest giga coaster in North America.’
The roller coaster rises to 325 feet with speeds up to 95 mph.
The ride is unique in that it crosses over state lines between North and South Carolina.
It was closed at the weekend and is being inspected.
The rest of the park remains open.
“Safety is our top priority. All rides, including Fury 325, undergo daily inspections to ensure their structural integrity,” Carowinds said.
