Royal Air Maroc to launch historic flight to Los Angeles
Royal Air Maroc (RAM) announced in December the launch of a new nonstop route between Casablanca and Los Angeles, starting June 7, 2026.
This unprecedented service marks the first direct, roughly 12-hour connection between Africa and the U.S. West Coast. It represents a major milestone in the expansion of the national carrier’s long-haul network, the airline said in a statement.
Operating three times a week, the new route responds to growing demand for intercontinental travel ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. It targets the Moroccan and African diasporas, U.S. tourists, business travelers, as well as Moroccan, African, and European soccer fans heading to the United States for the global event.
Flights will be operated with Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft, known for their modern design, efficiency, and advanced technology. Passengers can expect a high-quality onboard service, a wide range of individual entertainment options, and a comfort level well suited to long-haul travel.
According to the flight schedule, RAM departures from Casablanca will take place on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, leaving at 4:00 a.m. and arriving in Los Angeles at 8:20 a.m. Return flights will depart Los Angeles at 10:20 a.m., arriving in Casablanca at 5:25 a.m. the following day. Tickets have already been on sale since December 4, 2025 on Royal Air Maroc website, through the airline’s call centers and sales offices, as well as across its network of partner travel agencies, a statement said.
For Hamid Addou, Chairman and CEO of Royal Air Maroc, “this direct service to Los Angeles is far more than a new destination. It is a historic milestone for the airline and for air connectivity across the African continent. It reflects our ambition to bring Morocco closer to the world’s major economic, tourism, and cultural hubs, while supporting the Kingdom’s broader strategy of international openness.”
