Royal Caribbean offering interest-free agent loans
Royal Caribbean Group is putting up $40 million to help keep its best agents in business.
Royal Caribbean Group’s ‘Pay It Forward’ initiative will provide interest-free loans to agencies of up to $250,000.
It will share more details about the loan facility in the New Year.
It is part of the RCL CARES’ program to support its travel advisors.
"We know our travel advisor friends are suffering, too, and we will get through this tough period together, just as we always have," said Richard Fain, Royal Caribbean Group’s chairman and CEO.
"Our travel partners have stood strong beside us for more than 50 years, and we are determined to be there for them now."
The ‘unprecedented nine months without sailing’ has caused major strain on agencies, especially cruise specialists, the cruise line said.
While there is optimism for a cruise restart in 2021, it will be slower-than-usual business for the first few months.
