The next two editions of the Royal Trophy will be held in China, with this year’s continental golf competition to take place on the greens of the Dragon Lake Golf Club, Guangzhou, from December 20-22.

China won the rights to host the seventh and eighth editions of the tournament following an extensive and competitive host venue application process.

Dragon Lake Golf Club is situated within the Dragon Lake International Village, a national tourist attraction designed and built in the style of a European town.

The village also encompasses the Princess Hotel and King’s Hotel.

Feng Di, chairman, Dragon Lake Golf Club, said: "In addition to being positioned as a prestigious golf club, we also would like to contribute to the growth of golf in China, to create opportunities for the game to be introduced to a greater percentage of the Chinese population.

"Hosting the Royal Trophy fits perfectly with this set of objectives."
