Russia quits United Nations World Tourism Organisation
Russia has jumped before it was pushed. Facing suspension from the United Nations World Tourism Organisation ahead of a vote by member states to suspend it, Russia formally withdrew from the agency.
This week the UNWTO called its first-ever extraordinary General Assembly, to debate Russia’s ‘aggression against Ukraine’ which it says is ‘inconsistent with the United Nations.
Despite Russia quitting, the Assembly still went ahead with the vote which passed in favor of suspension.
