Ryanair apologises for compensation cheque error
Ryanair has apologised for an error which saw compensation cheques sent to customers unsigned.
It said a ‘very small number’ of cheques processed in July were issued without a required signatory ‘due to an administrative error’.
It said the cheques had been re-issued along with a letter of explanation on August 15.
The apology came after passengers complained about having to pay extra fees after their cheques bounced.
One passenger waited 11 months for compensation and said she had been charged an extra fee of €20.
The BBC said it had spoken to 10 other people who said their cheques had bounced.
