Ryanair cancels hundreds of flights due to French ATC strike
Ryanair was forced into cancelling 420 flights due to the strike by French air traffic controllers.
It will affect about 80,000 passengers.
France’s DGAC aviation authority this week asked airlines to slash schedules to minimise disruption.
The airline said the main impact comes from limits on overflying French airspace.
Ryanair blasted the ‘unjustified strike which achieve nothing but disrupt thousands of European citizens/visitors’ weekend travel plans.’
“It is inexplicable that flights which overfly France are disrupted by French ATC strikes yet domestic French flights are protected by minimum service laws.”
It is time that the EU step in and protect overflights so that European passengers are not repeatedly held to ransom
