Ryanair gets fewer complaints than Aer Lingus
Ryanair’s charm offensive seems to be paying off as latest complaint figures in Ireland show it generated fewer complaints than Aer Lingus for the second consecutive year.
Figures for the first six months of the year, just released by the Commission for Aviation Regulation Ireland, showed Aer Lingus received more complaints about cancellations, delays and denying boarding to passengers.
During the period, the commission received just under 50 complaints over flight cancellations by Aer Lingus, but less than 20 similar complaints for Ryanair.
When it came to denied boarding, nine complaints were made against Aer Lingus but only four against Ryanair.
But the gap narrowed when it came to complaints about long delays, where 75 complaints were received about delays to Aer Lingus flights, compared with 72 for Ryanair.
Last year, complaints against Aer Lingus exceeded those against Ryanair for the first time since 2011.
A Ryanaid spokesman said: "We¹re not surprised, as we outlined this fact in our recent advertising campaign. Our Always Getting Better improvement programme has seen millions of new customers switch to Ryanair, enjoying our improved customer experience, on top of our industry leading punctuality and the same great low fares."
