Ryanair makes non-binding offer for Alitalia
Ryanair has made a ‘non-binding offer’ for struggling Italian carrier Alitalia.
But chief executive Michael O’Leary said the offer was subject to a ‘significant restructuring’ and ‘an absence of Italian government interference’.
Back in May, Alitalia filed to be put under special administration for the second time in under 10 years and the Italian Government agreed to provide a bridging loan to keep the airline operating for around another six months.
Reuters said it had received about 10 non-binding offers by the deadline last Friday.
Alitalia is 49%-owned by Etihad.
